Ali Çağan Uzman serves as an assistant professor at Beykoz University in Istanbul, teaching courses in Character Design, Illustration, Drawing and Modeling, Motion Graphics, and Visual Design within the Faculty of Art and Design.
In addition to his academic career, he actively works in the creative industry. He completed his Ph.D. in the Advertising and Publicity Department at Marmara University, focusing his research on the impact of advertisements on individuals’ career choices.
For the past 11 years, he has worked as a senior art director at MG Creative Strategy Agency and, for the last two years, as a remote animation artist for the London-based agency Beige.
As a freelance artist, he has collaborated with prestigious institutions such as Netflix, PBS, BBC, the World Health Organization, UNESCO, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, HBO, and the Flying Broom Film Festival.
One of his standout projects, the short animated documentary Camp Confidential: America’s Secret Nazis, featured his work as a title designer and graphic designer. This project was nominated in the categories of “Outstanding Graphic Design and Art Direction” and “Outstanding Music Composition” at the 43rd News & Documentary Emmy Awards and was shortlisted for the “Best Documentary (Short Subject)” category at the 94th Academy Awards (Oscars).
Ali Çağan Uzman continues his artistic production through exhibitions and NFT projects and has won awards at various animation and short film festivals. He has also been a finalist at events such as the European Human Rights Festival.
As an academic, his primary goal is to stay up to date with the latest developments in the animation field and to guide his students in reaching their full potential and bringing their creative ideas to life.
Born in 1993 in İzmir, Aylin Berna Zamandar Başoğlu is an academic and researcher.
She graduated from Ege University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema, where she also completed her master’s degree. She is currently pursuing her PhD at Kadir Has University, focusing on digital game narratives and artificial intelligence.
Between 2015 and 2020, she produced and hosted the cinema radio show “Klaket” for five years, covering film reviews, director interviews, and industry analyses. During her undergraduate studies, she also won multiple screenplay awards for her script “Amoral.”
Her research focuses on digital game narratives, interactive storytelling, and the relationship between cinema and video games. She has been in academia for over five years and is currently a lecturer at Beykoz University, Department of Cartoon and Animation.
Her passion for cinema began at the age of three when she first stepped into a movie theater with her mother, and it has never faded since. She continues to nurture her love for storytelling by watching at least one film a day. While growing and learning alongside her daughter İnci and her cat Yuumi, she dedicates her remaining time to studying digital games, cinema, and new media.
Gülçin Çaktuğ Kurt completed her undergraduate studies in Communication Design and Cinema & Television. She has worked professionally in motion graphics design, animation, and editing.
She began her academic career in 2019 as a Research Assistant in the Communication Design Department at Özyeğin University. Since 2021, she has been working in the same position in the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department at Kadir Has University. She is currently pursuing her PhD, focusing on recently produced short animated films in Turkey. She has a strong interest in new forms in cinema, particularly in animation, exploring different narrative styles and screenplay structures.
