What is Canlandıranlar?
Developed to address the needs and current production environment of animation in Turkey, Canlandıranlar projects are people-focused.

People who work, labor, produce or aspire to work in animation sector, have the education, production and screening opportunities within this non-profit and not technically restricted initiative.

They can also connect with and receive mentorship from local and international professionals. One of Canlandıranlar’s goals is to create a legacy in this field in Turkey.

How Did It Begin?
Canlandıranlar began with free film workshops organized by Berat İlk at Istanbul Bilgi University in 2008.

Around the same time; the Canlandıranlar Talent Camp, which took shape as part of the Istanbul European Capital of Culture Agency’s activities, was launched in 2009 and 2010 in partnership with the Istanbul Bilgi University VCD Department, with the support of production companies and universities.

This movement expanded and developed with the annual Talent Camp, the subsequent establishment of the Canlandıranlar Association, ASIFA Turkey, and the Canlandıranlar Festival.

What Does Canlandıranlar Do?
The Canlandıranlar Association, founded in 2011, brings together those interested in animation.
The annual Canlandıranlar Talent Camp, helps introduce new talent to the field through short film production.
ASIFA Turkey, established in 2012 under the umbrella of the Canlandıranlar Association, provides a global network.
Since 2013, the association has been bringing together animators and animation enthusiasts through the International Canlandıranlar Film Festival.
