Ayşe Ünal

Ayşe Ünal is a director, producer and creative director working in animation across the UK and Turkey. CShe has a particular fascination with creating characters and building worlds. She has worked across film, television, games and advertising, in live action, 2D and 3D animation. She co-directed the animated feature Bad Cat, which screened at festivals including Annecy and Sitges, and is a co-founder of Rafa Film, where she develops original animated content.

Gülçin Çaktuğ Kurt
Member of the Selection Committee

Gülçin Çaktuğ Kurt received her undergraduate education in the departments of Communication Design and Cinema and Television. She has worked professionally in the fields of motion graphic design, animation, and editing. Since 2021, she has continued her work as a research assistant in the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema at Kadir Has University, where she is also pursuing her doctoral studies. Her doctoral research focuses on contemporary short independent animated films produced in Turkey. She is closely engaged with new forms in cinema and particularly in animation, as well as with different modes of narrative structures.

Uğur Savaş
Member of the Selection Committee

Uğur Savaş (b. 1987) is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of sculpture and stop-motion animation. His practice explores the relationship between sculpture and the moving image. He holds both his BFA and MFA in Sculpture from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. His short film Wolf’s Box premiered at the Odense International Film Festival in 2023 and has since been screened internationally, receiving multiple awards. He currently lives and works in Istanbul, where he continues to combine sculpture, animation, and cinema in his artistic practice.
