Başak Ürkmez
İstanbul’da yaşayan animatör, araştırmacı, öğretim üyesi ve küratör. 1999 yılında Anadolu Üniversitesi Animasyon Bölümü’nden bölüm birinciliği ile mezun oldu. Aynı üniversitede yüksek lisansını 2002 yılında tamamladı. 2002- 2004 yılları arasında Anadolu Üniversitesi Animasyon Bölümü’nde öğretim görevlisi olarak çalıştı. Doktorasını 2011 yılında Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi’nde tamamladı. Türkiye, İngiltere, Peru ve Küba'da birçok animasyon eğitim projesi yürüttü. 2011 ve 2012 yıllarında GMK En İyi Sergi Tasarımı ödülüne layık görüldü. 2004 yılından bu yana Grafist – İstanbul Grafik Tasarım Günleri Organizasyon Komitesi üyesidir. Görsel iletişim tarihi üzerine, çok sayıda animatör ve grafik tasarımcı ile röportaj yaptı. Mimar Sinan Üniversitesi Grafik Tasarım Bilgi Belge Merkezi’nin kurucuları arasında yer aldı. Bu merkezde 3000'in üzerinde afiş ve animasyon filmi malzemesinin arşivlenmesinde çalıştı. IB Tairus yayınevi tarafından yayınlanan “Animation in the Middle East: Practice and Aesthetics From Baghdad to Casablanca” adlı kitabın 2017 yılında bölüm yazarlığı yaptı. Bu alanındaki bilimsel yayın , BAFTSS tarafından 2018 En İyi Hazırlanmış Koleksiyon Kitabı ödülünü kazandı. 2004 yılından bu yana Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi Grafik Tasarım Bölümü’nde ve 2020’den itibaren de Animasyon Bölümü kurucu bölüm başkanı olarak görev yapmaktadır.
Berna Gencalp
Berna Gençalp holds a BA degree in Film and Television from Eskişehir Anadolu University and an MA degree in Film and Television from İstanbul Bilgi University. She has attended international workshops on scriptwriting at Mediterranean Film Institute in Greece and Katapult in Hungary. With her script The Wig Story, she was invited to Berlin Film Festival Talent Campus and Antalya Film Festival. It was her who coined up the name Canlandıranlar for the independent animation film festival that aims to promote animation art in Turkey. She has held various positions within Canlandıranlar since its start in 2008. In 2104, she presented a paper with the title Construction of the Self in Kerime Nadir and Agatha Christie: I am not your cliché at the international symposium, entitled Women’s Lives: Auto/biography, Life Narratives, Myths and Historiography. Her poetry appeared at distinguished literary journals. Born in İzmir, she lives and works in İstanbul. She is the project designer, scriptwriter and director of Who is Mihri, an independent feature production, which is supported by the Ministry of Culture Film Fund, Antalya Film Forum prizes, US Embassy Grant and Stars Project.
Cemal Erez

Güven Çatak
She is an experienced producer and executive producer who works in the business for more than 25 years. Pati Film produced the first puppet film of Turkey. Rimos and Zimos distributed nationwide and screened at many national and international festivals. She produced Ezel Akay’s feature film Where is Firuze (2004). She gives lectures on Film Production and Production Planning at universities. Until 2012 she worked at production companies as producer. She makes TV commercials, works as a freelance producer for feature films. She is one of the producers of Kim Mihri documentary feature film and worked for Netflix series Ethos and Hot Skull as post-production supervisor and Al Jazeera’s news-reality show as line producer. She is a member of Cinema Tv Guild, Seyap, board member of Animators Association. She started to work for Netflix Turkey as Manager, Post Management Team, from February 2022.
Nermin Er
Nermin Er uses paper and ink as the main materials for her artworks. In search of the limits and possibilities of the material, the artist has worked in the animation world for many years creating stories by minimal combinations of paper, light and shadow. Elements such as people, cities and nature in daily life are interpreted in the cinematographic scenes constructed in the form of a silhouette. In her recent works, Er focuses on the concepts of masses and visual and intellectual themes such as accumulation and dispersion, creating micro spaces by adding-removing or stacking particles to surfaces. The works of the artist, in which she brings together volume and dynamism on the surface by creating the dimension, she also creates an integrative language of expression just like phrases juxtaposed. Besides her paper works, there are also animation-video works that can be described as a reflection of the artist’s process of studying the material.
Nermin Er (1972, Istanbul), graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Sculpture in 1995. In addition to her professional career in animation, the artist started exhibiting regularly at Galeri Nev İstanbul since 2004. Her solo shows include her project “A Boxy Room” for Yanköşe Platform, which was bought to life by Kahve Dünyası in 2017. Her solo & group exhibitions include Riverrun (Istanbul, 2019), Open Space (Berlin, 2020), Evliyagil Museum (Istanbul), 2018), Cappadox (Nevşehir, 2017), Istanbul Modern (2013), Helene Nyborg Contemporary (Copenhagen, 2006), Siemens Art Gallery (Istanbul, 2005), Pera Museum (2005), Aksanat (Istanbul, 2004), :mentalKLINIK (Istanbul, 2002). In 2020 Er who was invited to NGBK / Depo Berlin’s Artist Residency Program and spent six months in ZKU Berlin. Her works are included in a number of institutional collections such as Arter, Mudo Collection, Polimeks, Evliyagil Museum and Baksı Museum. Er lives and works in Istanbul.
