Tribute: Ateş Benice

Dedicated to a name that has made great contributions to the art of animation in Turkey every year, Saygı Kuşağı is hosting Ateş Benice this year.

Ateş Benince was born in 1947, is one of Turkey’s first cartoon masters and graduated from the Painting Department of the State Academy of Fine Arts. Benice, who learned his career by making cartoons with Orhan Büyükdoğan, has undertaken many projects with important names such as Tonguç Yaşar and Derviş Pasin. He was the guide of animation in Turkey by making one of the first Turkish cartoons broadcast on television called Bir Ant Ailesi. Benice, whose film was sold in 22 countries, won awards in Akşehir and Zagreb in 1976 and made a great contribution to the cartoon sector as an artist who believed in the needs of many producers.
