About Director
Calleen Koh, Amanda Teo
Calleen Koh is currently in her final year for Animation Art Bachelors in LASALLE College of the Arts. She enjoys exploring facets of the media world from past and present through her works, both in filmmaking and fine arts. In 2017, she showcased her experimental animation installation, The Show Never Really Ends, for the exhibition In An Echo, We Remember, which sought to immortalise vignettes of the favourite Cantonese Opera performance for a sweet elderly lady, Ms Jesse Tang, as the olden craft slowly fades into the past with new media and entertainment coming in. Her animated short film, Sexy Sushi, explored themes of consumerism and advertising through satire, and was screened at the Annecy Film Festival, Fantoche Animation Film Festival, FLICKFAIR, Lift-Off Sessions and Singapore International Film Festival in 2020. For her achievements, Calleen was awarded the David Marshall Scholarship for Young Artists from 2016-2017, the Ngee Ann Kongsi Scholarship from 2019-2020, and clinched Best Art Director Award in Singapore’s National Youth Film Awards 2020 for Sexy Sushi.
