Sinem Sakaoğlu, who lives in Hamburg, Germany, is a curious and creative director who is passionate about telling visually impressive and technically amazing stories that create an emotional connection with the audience. She produces in every format from feature films and shorts to commercials and music videos, and works in a variety of techniques including stop motion, CGI, live action and mixed media.

Her animation journey, which began with her first stop motion short film Eva (2005), extended to directing Germany’s first stop motion feature film Sandman and The Lost Sand of Dreams. Sinem Sakaoğlu, who contributed to many award-winning films such as Bo, The Three Robbers and Hadia, has won many international awards in the categories of best film, best director and best animation. She is currently working on her next animated feature film project, Kara, which has received support from Eurimages and festivals, and is currently working on the development, production design and script.

Since 2011, Sinem Sakaoğlu has been directing high-level commercials with stop motion and visual effects-heavy concepts, and her works stand out with their extraordinary production design, technical complexity, and entertaining aspects. Sinem Sakaoğlu, who is competent in both real-life shooting and digital VFX, combines animation with live action and masters techniques such as motion control and scaling.
