At the beginning of the twentieth century, in the north of Italy, life has become very difficult and the Ughetto’s dream of starting all over again abroad. Luigi Ughetto crosses the Alps and starts a new life in France, changing the fate of his beloved family forever. The story of the family is followed by the grandson. This film, which the director constructs as an imaginary conversation with his grandmother Cesira, asking her everything she wants to know, pays homage to the courage of the Italian immigrant generation living at the end of the 19th century while witnessing their lives.
